Introduction

Origins of Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science (CNU)

Starting life with just 300 students as Chia Nan Junior College of Pharmacy, CNU was founded in 1966 by Mr. Chen Wang. We quickly achieved an excellent reputation for training pharmacists, and as we expanded into the fields of health promotion and management, our student population continued to grow, enabling us to develop into one of the three biggest institutions of technology in Taiwan. In 1996, we were upgraded by the Ministry of Education to become Chia Nan College of Pharmacy and Science, and in 2000 were formally accredited with full university status, becoming Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science. CNU is now a leading educator of professionals in the fields of pharmacy, health care and science, with approximately 17,000 students. More than 100,000 students have graduated from our programs, and are currently making their mark in a wide range of professions. Our alumni are highly sought after by industry, and are well known for their contribution to society.
